Mayflower Communications Becomes First in Aviation Industry to Ship FAA TSO C-190 Authorized GPS Anti-Jam System for Integration

Bedford, MA – Mayflower Communications Company delivered several FAA TSO-authorized MAGNA GPS Anti-Jam Systems to the U.S. Government for integration into a fixed-wing aircraft. This industry-first milestone marks a turning point in efforts to combat GPS degradation and denial.  For the first time in aviation history, a U.S. Government aircraft will operate with a GPS Anti-Jam System that meets FAA ADS-B requirements and Design Assurance Level – Bravo (DAL B) standards. These aircraft typically operate in Navigation Warfare (NAVWAR) environments, supporting U.S. Government objectives.

The Only FAA TSO-C190 Authorized GPS Anti-Jam System

Mayflower’s Multi-Platform Anti-Jam GPS Navigation Antenna (MAGNA) is currently the world’s only FAA TSO-C190-authorized anti-jam systems. The MAGNA product line consists of two models:

  • MAGNA-Federated (MAGNA-F)
  • MAGNA-Integrated (MAGNA-I)

Both models leverage Mayflower’s high-performance GPS Anti-Jam (AJ) antenna technologies and were developed with sponsorship from the U.S. Army and Navy to meet GPS protection requirements across air, sea, and ground platforms—including fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, ships, UAVs, and tactical vehicles. Both products provide simultaneous L1/L2 protection and can secure both commercial and military GPS receivers.

MAGNA-F: A Small, High-Performance Federated GPS Anti-Jam Solution

The MAGNA-F is the latest federated, small-SWaP, and cost-effective GPS Anti-Jam solution, extensively tested and flown in NAVWAR operational environments on multiple government aircraft platforms.

  • Features a compact 3.5” diameter Controlled Reception Pattern Antenna (CRPA)
  • FRPA-compatible footprint for seamless integration
  • Outperforms larger, more expensive anti-jam solutions

The MAGNA-I is the smallest and highest-performing integrated GPS Anti-Jam solution available, designed with a 4.5” diameter FRPA-compatible footprint for simplified integration and reduced life cycle costs.
